So we set off in 'Dave' on the morning of 2nd May towards Kaikoura, stopping only for some photos before heading to our lovely cosy hostel in Blenheim with a big log burning fire and John got to catch up on his jet-lagg.Â
The next day (Thursday) we were up bright and early to begin our personal wine tour in 'Dave' around the Marlborough wine region, tasting all those on Coyotes wine list - all for free!!! Including Frammingham, Allan Scott, Spy Valley, Mud House and Saint Clare, also nipped to a local chocloate factory and got to taste some treats!! We were in our element. That evening we stayed another night at the cosy hostel and watched Lord of the Rings to get us in the mood for the up-coming views.
Friday we were up and out and heading straight upto Picton which is a beautiful little town were you catch the ferry upto Wellington. Here we had booked onto a Mail boat tour around the Marlborough Sounds. Many people live in this region but there are no roads so the only way you can access them is by boat....so for 3 hours we sat in the sunshine dropping post off to the locals! It was such a good day and beautiful weather.
That evening we drove a few hours from Picton to Nelson.
We will update again soon with the next leg of the journey!
