We used the showers at what I think was a campsite. You had to pay $2 for 4 minutes, and I was quite chuffed that I managed to wash my hair in that time. The man who ran it was very nice and boiled the kettle so we could have a cup of coffee/ tea. There weren't that many interesting things about today as all we did was drive. We weren't sure of our route, but Alice went to the I-site to gather information about South Island, and then we went to the supermarket, where a German man tapped on the window whilst I was phoning mum and dad to ask if I spoke German. We drove to Kaikoura, and stopped en route for a crayfish (Kai- eat, koura- crayfish) although hadn't realised how expensive they were- mine was $35....

I waited for Alice to wake up, and then we spent an hour or so hanging out at McDonalds, using their toilets and Wi-Fi, etc. We then went to the leisure centre to use their showers, and headed to the ferry terminal. We got there at 5.39, and check in didn't start until 6.30, and then we didn't get to board until about 8.
