Day 1 of my 3 day 'survivor' stylie stay on The worlds largest sand island!!! Exploring the lakes and forests of Fraser whilst trying not to get eaten by the wild dingos will be my main aim here!
Fraser island is an ecological wonderland created by drifting sand, where wild dogs roam free and lush rainforest grows on sand! It's a primal island utopia, home to a profusion of wildlife including the purest strain of dingo in Australia. I will be exploring the island in a 4 WD, cruising up the seemingly endless 75 mile beach and bouncing along sandy inland tracks. Tropical rainforest, pristine freshwater pools and beach camping under the stars are sure to bring me back to survivor stylie!!!
After a very early start, we let french Kevin pack the car as he seemed keen! We also have Alisha from Canada, titiana from Germany and alex the Scott!!! When titiana found out she was in my group she was like 'yeaaayyy i need to improve my english'!!! This happens quite a bit and im starting to feel used! The mad london boyz are in another tent so theres a slight chance ill get some sleep! When we arrived we put the tents up, (well I watched a bit), had lunch and then drove to lake McKenzie for a swim!
Well my motto at tea time was certainly 'too many cooks spoil the broth'!!! Rains still held off ATM so everyones on the alcohol and feeling good!!! The London boyz have got their macs out again and the tunes are ranging from dubstep to garage! Catch phrase from the weekend, 'nice one brovaaaaa'!!! I've been trying to get brett (the tour guide) to tell me stories because apparently it's known as 'death island' from people jumping in the sea and being taken by the current or eaten by a shark! First rule of Fraser island 'do not, under any circumstances, go in the sea', second rule on Fraser island, 'do not go to the loo alone after dark' or you'll get eaten by a dingo!!!
