We had a huge day today, first we went to Interlaken and went canyoning. The canyon we went into was called Saxeten.
We got suited up into full body wetsuits, life jackets, booties and helmets, then drove up the road to Saxeten where we walked up a mountain for 10 minutes then jumped into the river, we walked along for a while, then abseiled 12 meters down into the canyon then came to the first waterfall (and our first jump), which was about 2 meters high, we then flowed down the river for a bit until we came up to another waterfall which was about 3-4 meters which we jumped off, after this we slid down rock slides and then came to our biggest jump of the day which was about 10 meters, it was so freaky, I was shaking, Jason jumped before me and said he could see me shaking from all the way down the bottom, but I hardened up and just did it and it was so much fun when I did! After this jump we then walked along the rivers edge for a bit, which became so much harder to do as my body was shaking so much, we went down an even longer rock slide and went backwards down a small waterfall, then we walked back up to the car and went back to the base for a well deserved drink.
When we got back to Lauterbrunnen, we walked down the road to Trummelbach Falls, here there are 10 glacier water falls inside a mountain which are accessible through a lift and small tunnels throughout the mountain, the roaring of the water being pushed through was so intense, which isn’t surprising as it flows through up to 20 000 liters of water per second and is draining 3 separate maintains of their melting snow and ice.
