The second day was Jason’s birthday =-) we hired bikes in the morning and rode to the outskirts of town (which took like 5 minutes). The colour of the river is this amazing emerald green which is because it stems from glacial ice (just magnificent). In the afternoon, we caught the bus to Lauterbrunnen which only took about an hour to get to, pitched our tent up and drank a bottle of wine to celebrate.

Bern is the capital of Switzerland, it was freaky crossing the border as it is not part of the EU they have a border check with guards that have guns, they’re quite intimidating! The first day in Bern, we walked around and just took in the awesome scenery and the 15 odd fountains they have (you pretty much can’t walk 20 meters without running into a fountain).
