We did not do much while in Stuttgart, first day we went to the Mercedes Benz museum, it’s absolutely huge! There’s about 6 levels, the bottom level is where it all started and has the very first concept car, there’s also a section that tells you what happened within those years, it was a very interesting museum (for a car museum!). Unfortunately (for us) the first day was a big catholic public holiday, so all the shops were shut so we didn’t do anything...

Today we went on a walking tour of Munich, we started in Marienplatz in front of Maries Column, we watched the Glockenspiel Clock chime, it goes forever and chimes a few different songs, that you can’t understand as it’s sounds so out of tune and it has little figurines that dance around, the tour guide dubbed it the 2nd most over rated tourist attraction in Europe (you can watch it on utube, just type in Glockenspiel clock Munich). We had an awful nights sleep last night due to a massive thunder storm hitting at 11pm and lasted a few hours, the noise was so intense from the rain, it sounded like all the worlds population of ants were surrounding our tent and beating on tiny drums. We packed up early and headed into town to catch a bus for Munich (we are staying in a hostel again, thankfully). We didn't do much, we went to the movies and saw Terminator (in English).

Today we ventured out of Berlin to Oranienburg to Sachsenhausen, the first of the many concentration camps run by Nazi’s (1931-1945) and later run by the Soviet Union (1945-1950), then later re open as a commemorative museum. It’s a very eerie place to be and is very disturbing to read of some of the stories that occurred within those very walls, they have rooms set up as they were during the wars and stories from people that survived.

Today we went on the free walking tour of Berlin, we went past the holocaust memorial, saw the remainder of the Berlin wall and memorials for some of the people who were killed trying to escape and cross the borders. After the tour, we went to the parliament house, which has a glass roof and you can walk above and see the politicians.
