Kya Travels
We got up early again today, so we could get some breakfast. We met some of the other people who were staying there, and had a chat with them while we were eating our food. After breakfast we went to sort out our washing, and sent it downstairs to be washed. Then we went back upstairs to bed. After a bit more sleep, I got up and Skyped the family for a while, as everyone was there for Jace's birthday. I got passed around the table and got to say hi to everyone (even Max!) but the connection wasn't great so there was a massive lag, and it was hard to understand everyone at times. After my Skype session we got ready, and messaged Lyle that we were ready to go castle-hunting, and he came in and told us he'd put every single pair of his pants in the wash. What the? So we were going to go without him, when he came back... And told us he'd put the car keys through the wash.... The hire car's electronic keys... Argh! So very frustrated, Darren and I went for a walk down to the Loch. There were so many ducks and other birds in the water by the town, including a mega cute couple of swans with four little ugly ducklings. Then a bit further on, there was another duck with her little ducklings that was trying to swim across, and all these seagulls kept swooping down on the ducklings! The seagulls here are at least twice the size of the ones back home, they're mega! So mumma duck had to keep flapping her wings at them to protect her ducklings, and kept nipping the little ducklings to keep them close! Poor duckies! We kept walking up the path that runs by the loch, and I got some photos on "Log Lomond", which was literally just a log in the water. We thought it was funny though! As we kept walking the path turned and went up the hill before turning back towards town. We got talking to an old couple who were walking their dog, who gave us some recommendations on things to see, and we also found an elephant in a tree trunk! It looked so much like an elephant! We call it eletrunk! As we were makin our way back, it started to rain a little, then a little bit more, and by the time we got back to the main street we were a little soaked! The weird thing with the rain here is that it never really pours down, it's more just a constant light shower that gets you wetter than you realize! So we stopped at a place called Corries for some lunch to warm up. I had a baked potato and Darren got some pepper chicken, which were both awesome! Then we made our way back to the B&B for some snooze and TV time. Lyle came to tell us the keys were ok, and they didn't go through the wash after all, cos Robert (the owner), had noticed them... So lucky! After a bit of TV and snoozing, we walked up to an Indian Restaurant called Golden Star for some Indian. It's crazy the wide variety of Indian food there is around here! At home, all the shops have pretty much the same menu, but here you're guaranteed to have not heard of most of the dishes! We got a mushroom poori for entree, which was mushrooms in a tomato-ey sauce, wrapped in flatbread and grilled. It was delicious! Would have maybe been nicer a little more spicy and a little less tomato though! But I'd still get it again! We also got a naan bread which was bigger than my face! It was mega! Darren was a little scared from last time, so only ordered a medium spice, then had to ask for extra chillies! So after a delicious meal, we had a chat to the waitresses there, mostly about Australia, then we went back to the B&B and watched a bit of the Glastonbury Music Festival on TV, and went to bed.
