Kya Travels
We woke up this morning, packed up all our stuff and checked out before jumping on a bus into the city. We got off and walked to the hostel to check in, but our room wasn't ready yet! They let us go in so we might be able to go up and use the washing machine. We got up there though, and there was a line of bags waiting for the machine! So we added ours to the line and waited around for a little while. We found out that the dryer wasn't working though, and all the hanging space was taken, so we decided we'd go get some lunch and try again when we got back! By that time we were able to drop our bags off in the room, then went out to find some food. We walked up the street a bit to a little cafe where I got a spaghetti and Darren got a burger. We listened to a busker playing some cool rock songs in a little bit of a Spanish style then made our way back to the hostel to try the laundry again. It was kind of the same situation, but a lot of the things on the line were dry anyway, so we put the washing from the machine into a basket and put ours on. While we waited we had a chat with the girls before and after us in the washing line, Jenna and Scarlet, both Aussies from Melbourne. Scarlet was also a 24 year old, who was born in Ocean Grove and lived in Mildura, which is my exact opposite. So random! We had a bit of a mission finding hanging space, and ended up taking the dry things down and folding them, so we could hang Jenna's stuff up! By the time we were done, clothes were everywhere! All over every hanging spot and on chairs and everything. Then our washing finished and we had to find more room! So we took a couple of picnic tables that were in the sun and lay our clothes out on that to dry! It was super hot up on the terrace there, and with some flipping and rearranging the clothes dried in about half an hour! As I took them off, Scarlet took the space. Like a big 'fun' laundry game! When everything was finally dry (damn you denim!) we went down, grabbed some water from the vending machine and then went down for a siesta! It was a little late for your traditional siesta, but we did it anyway! We woke up around 9pm and went up to the hostel bar on the top floor for some dinner. They were doing a BBQ and a drink for €6, so Darren got a BBQ plate and a beer and I got a sangria. I told the girl I was vegetarian and she gave me a massive plate of paella! Yummy! We sat in the common area and watched a little bit of a type of funniest home video show and used the wifi for a bit then I went down for a shower and went to bed while Darren used the wifi for a bit longer.
