Kya Travels
Woke up this morning around 9am, got ready and walked to the bus stop, and went in to Wet’n’Wild Water World. Looked around for a bit first, then went on a few rides. First one was Mammoth Falls (which you sat in a massive round raft, to go down) then Super 8 Aqua Racer (8 people go down at once, head first, lying on a rubber mat), Twister (two enclosed waterslides that twisted around each other), River Rapids (one enclosed and one open waterslide, that I went on the open one and Darren in the enclosed one), Tornado (you sat in a big round raft and went down a massive drop, then up and down the sides of a huge cone and out the end), and the black hole (on a raft, you went in an enclosed waterslide that was pitch black, and you couldn’t see a thing). Then we went and had lunch, veggie/chicken burger and chips, then went on more rides; The Kamikaze (looked like a big skate ramp, where you’re on a raft and drop in from the top, and go up and down the sides) The Sidewinder (an open waterslide, going down on a raft), The Supercoaster (an enclosed waterslide on a raft, that at the end goes into the open and up a ramp sort of thing and back down), and then I went on the Mach 5 (an open waterslide that went down at about a 70° angle, and sort of scratched your back a bit). Then we had a bit of a swim in the wave pool before heading back on the bus and back to the apartment. Chilled out for a little bit, then went for a walk up to Surfer’s Paradise to get some tea. Found a place called La Paella, which was a Spanish restaurant, so we thought we’d give it a try. We had a Vegetarian Tapa’s Plate to start with, which was like an antipasto, and a penne pasta/creamy chicken dish for mains. It was very tasty but very expensive! Then started to walk back home and stopped at a Thai Massage place on the way, for a 10min head/face/ears massage, which was awesome, then went back to the apartment, relaxed for a while and went to bed.
