Kya Travels
We got woken up by busabout again this morning, but not quite so early, it was about 6.30 today!! We went over for some breakfast of stale bread with eggs (and bacon) and held onto our hot tea to warm our frozen hands as we stood with Amy and Jade waiting for the bus. There were hardly any people around this morning and the staff were struggling to even fill one bus! So we jumped on the first bus and made our way in to the coach park again. When we got there, we walked some of the way down to Oktoberfest with the group, then said goodbye to Amy and Jade about halfway and went into a cafe. They had nowhere to sit inside, so we went to another one. It was closed, so we went to a little bakery across the road! It wasn't quite open either yet, so we sat out the front and waited fifteen minutes until they opened up. We went in and got a hot drink each and had a chat about yesterday. We were waiting to hear from Maddie too, because Jade said she thought James had Darren's phone. We finished our drink there, then went back to one of the other cafes for another drink, because they had wifi, and had a bit more of a chat. I got on the wifi, and had a message from James saying he had Darren's phone, so that was a bit of a relief! We organised to meet him and Maddie, then Darren and I walked down all the way past the festival to the bus station at the other side. Darren was having a bad time walking, because he had absolutely massive blisters from running around town last night! We got to the bus station and went to try find a ticket to get up to Dortmund the next day, but being a Sunday, everything was shut! So annoying! As we walked out the front though, we came across James and Maddie on their way to the festival to meet us! We got Darren's phone back (yay!) then all went to a little cafe together to have another hot drink and a chat with them, as Darren and I weren't in the mood for Oktoberfest again, and both of them were still hungover! We had a good chat over a cuppa, and I think everyone was feeling a lot better afterwards. We got to hear about Maddie's amazing night. She had enough fun to make up for all our ****** nights! Afterwards, we walked together down to the festival, where we went into one of the smaller tents, which I think was called Fischer-Vroni, and Darren, James and Maddie all got a beer each, and we all got a meal. Darren thought he had gotten the wrong meal, but it turned out part of the meal was a side dish and came out separately, and we didn't know, but the waitress was quite rude about it rather than helpful! Oh well! Maddie was too hungover to finish her beer, but Darren and James helped her out, then we left the tent and walked around for a while. We went back to the Augustiner tent, because James had lost his jacket yesterday and wanted to check the lost property. As we were walking in the front doors, I got pushed aside by a man who was covering his mouthful of spew, who then spewed a bit more into his hands, and I got side spew all over my jacket! So gross!! Thank god his hand was there though, so I only got a little splash, rather than the whole lot! I went to the front of the humongous line for the girls bathrooms, and motioned that I only wanted to use the taps and got let in to wash my jacket. It's my only one, and there's no way I'm going to be able to sleep in the freezing tent without wearing it!! When I was done, and James had no luck with the lost and found, we headed back out and walked around the carnival section of the festival. There was something that could have been a ghost train, with an animated statue kind of thing of a man in a lederhosen writhing in chains. Every couple of minutes he would make a spitting sound, and water would come shooting from his mouth! We thought it was absolutely hilarious, and stood around, out of spitting range, to watch people get wet! It was so funny! Especially when they didn't know where it came from! We strategically positioned ourselves so that people would have to go in front of us too! That amused us for a good half hour I reckon! After that we passed a few souvenir shops and found a sticker for the guitar, then went to sit up on a grassy hill and chill out for a while. There were lots of people with the same idea, in varying states of drunkeness! After a while we said goodbye to James and Maddie, who were heading home as Maddie was feeling a bit sick, then we went to make our way back up to the coach parking for a shuttle back to the camp. A couple of super drunk guys came up because they saw my busabout shirt, asking where the bus was, so we said they could follow us, but we soon realised exactly how drunk they were, and started to hang back a bit. They were doing ridiculously stupid things, like jumping in front of cars (and even an ambulance!), throwing massive rocks at cars, people and buildings, creeping on passing women, mooning bike riders and various other stupid drunk things. We eventually made it back to the bus stop, where we chilled out for a bit while we waited for the bus, then the very drunk guide made it there and let us all on. It was quite a drunk bus for a couple of sober people! When we got back to the camp, we headed to the tent, where we decided to get a bit more sleep in, while it was still daylight, sunny and kind of warm! When we woke up, it was night-time and we were freezing again!! Damnit! We got up and went down to the campsites bar, which was full of super noisy, super drunk Aussies drinking steins. We got some takeaway food from the little shop there, then had a look in the souvenir shop and had a chat with the lady who was working there. We got a hot cup of tea from the takeaway place to warm ourselves a bit before going back to bed. We froze, but it wasn't near as bad as the last couple of nights!
