Kya Travels
I woke up this morning and had a cuppa and read a bit of a book on the iPad while I waited for Darren to wake up. When we were ready, we headed off for a walk around town. We walked around the streets, stopping in almost every souvenir shop (which was almost every second shop!) looking for a sticker for the guitar. They weren't very good stickers though, so we thought we'd get one back in Prague. We kept wandering along the streets, along the rivers and all through the pretty little village. We saw a lady who was on our Budapest-Prague bus, which was pretty random, and saw a few pretty lookouts. We wandered over bridges and through more streets we hadn't been down, and eventually ended up at the other end of town, so we made a bit of a circle and headed back in. We stopped at a supermarket, where for the price of one block of chocolate back home, we got two blocks of chocolate, a bag of lollies, an ice cream and an icy pole! Yep, having a healthy day today! We walked past a place called the Gorilla bar that we wanted to have a look at, but it was still closed, so we wandered back to the river and found a seat in the sun, and sat watching the river for a while. There were some girls singing from the bridge up the street, and Darren sang back to them, which made them laugh! We wandered back over the bridge past them again, and Darren sang at them again, which made them laugh even more! Not sure if they were locals or tourists, but we think they may have been local. We went back to the bar, but it was still closed, not open for another hour, so we gave up on that idea for now and wandered back through the pretty, pretty town towards the hostel. We had another walk past the bear enclosure, and got to see the other bear for a bit, before he disappeared inside again, then after watching the first bear a bit longer, (who looked even more bored than the other day!) we headed back to the hostel. I had a read for a bit and we had a snooze before getting back up to find somewhere for dinner. I had a bit of a hard time finding somewhere to eat, as most places only had 'fried cheese' as the vegetarian option, which I've had once, and although its tasty, it is a ridiculous amount of cheese. We ended up at a little restaurant with a few other options, and went in to get a table. The waitress that served us was quite rude, first of all saying there were no tables, then when her colleague came along, dismissing us very rudely, and leaving the other waiter to seat us. At least he was nice! I had a vegetable strudel, which was absolutely delicious, but I wish there was more of it! Darren got some sort of lamb, which was ok, but not what he had felt like. So dinner was good, but could have been better! At least the walls in the place were cool! They had built the village into the walls, and they were kind of 3D, with some concave and convex parts, it looked awesome! After that, we headed back to the hostel, where we watched a movie with the people there before heading to bed.
