Krys & Toni's World Adventure
Want to see the Grand Palace which is an amazing kind of city of wats (temples) which were very sparkly and cool. Also housed there is the Emerald Buddha, which is apparently the most religious site in Buddhism and many travel here to pray. We unfortunately ran oput of money as haven't totally worked out conversion rates yet and had to seriously barter with a tuk-tuk driver to take us back to the hotel. In order to get it cheap we had to agree to let him trake us to his 'sponser', which was a jewellors who tried to make us buy. Krys hid our money in his sock just in case!
We have also visited Wat Po, a temple with a huge reclining gold Buddha the size of a school hall. Buddha looks very happy with life. In the evenings we went to a night bazaar with a huge market and live music (Toni's paradise, lots of clothes stalls), Patpong (scary red light district), and a huge weekend market (Toni happy, Krys hot!).
We took a cool river boat ride, but unfortunately got moved cos some monks got on and the best spaces are reserved for them. We ended up at Khao Sahn Road, where pretty much every backpacker in Bankok stays. It was a really fun laid back atmosphere with lots of activity. Fun to visit but glad we weren't staying there as very noisy!
We are now moving on to Cambodia so will let you know what happens there.
Lots of love
T and K xx
