Krys & Toni's World Adventure
Our pictures really dont do this place justice. It's paradise! Realy fine white sand, amazingly clear water, tropical fish and limestone cliffs surrounding it. Wow! Sorry if I'm making you all jealous- nah, I'm not really. It's fab!! The rainy season is starting here so it's rianed a bit but the skies have cleared for long enough for us to top up our tans a bit.
Best bit of Koh Phi Phi though, we went snorkelling at some coral where there were loads of reef sharks. Cant quite believe I plucked up the courage to do it. Krys was really excited and didnt seem at all scared. He kept trying to swim towards them whilst I held him back shaking. The first few were OK, more like baby sharks about as long as half you body like in the sea life centre, but then we saw a huge one that to me looked like Jaws. We think it was 2-3 metres and had a very mean face. At this point were it not for me holding both Krys' and the guide's hand I think I would have passed out. It was such a cool experience though, and the fish around the coral were so beautiful. Little Nemo ones, bright yellow and blues. Cant say enough how much we loved it.
Krys also did 'cliff jumping', which is basically what it sounds. He jumped off a cliff about 8 metres high. Apparently he landed on his bottom and it hurt, he he. My photo of it is funny as I took it too early and just got his feet. It was the first time since we've been away that I've seen him really scared- sweating and everything. To top off the day we saw a pod (is that the right word?) of dolphins go by the boat.
We spent the rest of our time eating and sunbathing. It's quite sad as in some places there are marks where the water came upto in the tsunami, and debris left behind. Our local guide who took us on the boat had lost his wife in the disaster which made it seem really real somehow. They seem to have recovered the island really well though.
Hope you're all OK and the weather is getting better there!
Love T and K x
