Had a nice relaxing day. We walked through all the craft stalls which were set up for Munichs birthday. After lunch we took a tram out to Nymphenburg Palace- built in 1664 and King Ludwig the 2nd was born there. We walked through the gardens which was a forest area we then read while lying out in the sun. At night there was a huge thunder storm and we went out for choclate brownies for dessert.

Today was Munichs birthday so in the centre there were markets, people walking around dressed up and they had set up temporary beer gardens. We bought a roast half chicken and rolls and headed to the english gardens (1000acre park) we then walked around the park. we got up early and we left the hostel just before 8 to go to the meeting point of our tour. we took a coach to Neuschwwanstein castle which was about 2hours away. on the way we watched a dvd the guide had made about the history of the castle and creator King ludwig. as the tour in the castle is the politically correct version. we arrived and met the other guide. we started off with a bike ride out to and around Swan lake. we then had lunch and our guide showed u...

our plans for the day changed as it was a bank holiday so everything was shut. We watched the Glockenspiel at munich centre.we also did alot of wandering before we caught the train to Oymplazentrum the sight of the 1972 Olympic games. The olympics where 17 israelis hostages were killed. next to the olympic area we started by looking at the BMW display centre. our bus left at lunch time so we spent the morning mucking around. it was a short ride to Munich. we spent some time getting our bearings of munich and sussing out what we wanted to do during our stay. we found a chinese buffet where we could finally eat some vegetables. we were amazed at how high people stacked there plates- and we thought we were greedy.
