Met Jess at 9am after our free hostel breakfast. She had invited along another couple of folk from her hostel which was ideal as split the price down further. We decided to do a loop round the entire island, following the coast south round to the capital suva and then up round the top of the island before returning to Nadi. It's basically the only main road and the route suggested by the car rental place but it was ALOT of driving. Took in lots of beautiful scene...

So having left LA on Tuesday the 6th at 10.30pm after a ten hour flight we arrive in Fiji on Thursday the 8th at 5am. This means on Wednesday the 7th of March 2012, I ceased to exist. Odd. Could have been a great day. Stepping off the plane I had an overwhelming sense of achievement that I had survived the infinite abyss and emerged with all my limbs and orifices in the correct place. 5th March Up and out sharp to squeeze as much into our day as possible. Pick up a Caramel latte and hit Golden Gate Park - just a ten minute walk from Jims place. Pretty scenes. Seen a lake and an enormous bird hiding in the reeds. Kind of like a Herron. Wandered about there for a while. Rose garden - no roses...Went to observetary tower but it was closed. Today is the last day of our epic road trip and this fills me with sadness. However, I know more adventure awaits. Still, the thought of leaving the team hurts a little bit. We leave the hostel at 8am and breakfast in the van for the last time while listening to some trip classics. It's a great drive to San Fran.
