Today was our free day in Vegas to spend as we wished. Rhona and I had a really lazy morning. It was nice to just chill out as it's so go go go. We actually got a bit stuck watching ridiculous talk shows...Steve Wilkos (dude), Jerry Springer and good old Jezza Kyle-straight talking american style.

We left the motel about 1pm and wandered onto the strip. Had a McDonalds....McChicken sandwiches are hot and spicy out here. Enjoyable. Went to Caesers Palace and played some $1 slot machines. SO addictive it's dangerous. I won $2 and was overjoyed, then Campbell has to outshine my victory and on a $1 game won $60!! We were so ridiculously happy, onlookers must have thought we had won really big. But, watching the money tick up was so excting, we didnt know when it was going to stop, we were gripping onto each other in anticipation as it kept going. Exhilariting experience so it was. Cashed that bad boy IN. Went to a fancy bar in the hotel called The Seahorse with a big tank of fish in the middle, feeling fly, got some Margaritas to celebrate. The barman did all the fancy flaring moves. Those drinks took quite a portion of our winnings...but, it was a once off occassion and a celebration of our victory. After having won...it's really hard to stop, we played a few more dollars then tore ourselves away. Will power required.

Went back to the motel and had some dinner. Met the girls and walked back to the strip. Watched the pirate show at Treasure Island. Ridiculously cheesy and over the top, lots of girls in underwear, men with tops off, fire, water and the sinking of a ship. Vegas. Met the boys at the Stratosphere at 9pm to do the ride but we missed out again as everything was closed due to high winds! Really wasn't that windy but I guess it's pretty high up. Rubbish. Got a coke float to ease the disappointment.

On the strip earlier Rhona and I had been given VIP passes to a club called Pure in Caesers Palace. There was an open bar for girls from 10-12. Obviously, we were keen to be involved in such an offer. Fired along there, oh my, it was ridiculously glam. We felt horribly underdressed but, got the free vodka cranberrys flowing and then it didn't seem to matter so much. Got chatting to a group of guys from Michigan who were on vacation in Vegas. They were brilliant, great chat and so friendly. One of them could only dance with his eyes closed which caused us much amusement. Especially because we move around alot when we hit the DF, he kept gettting lost. Fantastic night and didn't pay for one beverage. Living the life on a budget. No guilt. Had to drag ourselves away just before 2am in the hope to catch the guys, who had been gambling across the road, for a lift home to the motel. Turns out we had just missed them. Caught a cab and chatted for ages to the driver. Good lad. Eventually got to bed and passed out. I love Vegas.
