Hit the road sharp again after loading up the hound dog. Picked up a caramel latte, discussed dance moves outside a gas station, passed the Mead river and Hover Dam and entered back into the state of Nevada. Arrived in Las Vegas about midday and drove along the strip. Everything is SO elaborate. The sun is beaming and Casey has a Las Vegas playlist belting out. "Ooooooh, sometimes I get a good feeeling, yeah.". It's true, sometimes I do, times like this.
We see the statue of liberty at New York, New York, pass the Eiffel tower (better than the real one...Paris sucks). The strip just looks immense, even in the day, can't wait to see how it is when it's all lit up. Nip to Motel to drop off our luggage. Staying in a place called Mardi Gras on Paradise, a street one over but parrallel to the strip. We head to an all you can eat buffet at the Bellagio hotel. What an absolute treat, $21 and the food spread is outrageous. They have absolutely everything. Sushi bar, a carvery with every type of meat, veggies, pizza, pasta, salads, a desert bar with cheescakes, brownies, strawberries, ice creams, sorbets, fruits. I could go on a while here but, you get the idea. Everything you could want or imagine was available to munch. As much of it as you like. Ate FAR too much. Everyone was pretty much in pain. Wandered outside of the Bellagio when we eventually managed to get moving and watched the fountain show. There's one every 15mins, it's basically water...dancing to music. It's like a choreographed routine. Absolutely brilliant. Strolled along to New York New York and was handed so many w**** cards...girls in you're room in 20mins apparently, I cannot vouch for this. I now have a massive collection of cards though so if anyones interested...
Walked back to the van and went to a supermarket to get some booze. Rhona and I purchased some rum and a bottle of champagne for the limo ride that was coming later, had to be done. Had some time to chill in the motel, watched some family guy before getting ready for our night. Headed along to Caseys room, booze in hand and got the drinking games going. Hummer Limo arrives at 9.30pm, tours us down the strip but we make a few stops including Fremont Street to watch a Queen tribute on the worlds biggest tv screen. A woman approached me here and told me I was too hot to wear a bra...when I explained I didn't really want to have my nipples on display her reply was - "It's vegas baby". Vegas is crazy. We moved on in the limo and stopped later at the Las Vegas sign. Limo was just mad, lots of drinking and laughing and clinking of cups. The strip all lit up looks amazing. Got out after and hour and a half of fun at the Bellagio and watched the water show, evening style. Walked to The Mirage to see the volcano show but they had stopped for the night. So we powered on to The Stratosphere to go up the tower there and go on the rides but didn't arrive there until about 1am, JUST missed the last trip up. Pretty disappointing but agreed to all meet tomorrow night on our free day to do it instead. Had some food at a diner where all the staff sing while you're sitting eating. The girls decided to head home as at this point we had started to feel a bit hungover...it had been a while since we stopped the bevvying, the boys stayed out to gamble. Was a shame the night didn't go quite to plan. The limo ride was such a high then everything after that seemed to go a bit wrong but, had a great night nonetheless. A limo ride along the vegas strip is something I'll never forget. Vegas is crazy.
