Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Wednesday-
Mammy and Gran still recovering from dodgy tummys (light weights), so we're sticking to the Western food from now on (although I'm sure there's just as much risk of food poisoning with western food).
Set off pretty early to check out the "Main Bazaar", which consisted of gallery upon gallery, craft shop upon craft shop- heaven. Was fab- the first shop we went into had these to die for paintings- Clairie- wish you were there- you would've bought the shop seriously! But it was amazing- but the things were too big to buy and take home . Still managed to find some oober sexy carving I could fit in my suitcase- although I went a bit OTT and bought a carved paddle and it wont fit in any of our bags and it can't go on the plane as hand luggage- so oops!
Kuching was really clean, although I still prefer KK. I loved the art there though. There was a nice promenade by the river, just in front of our hotel that was nice to stroll down at night.
There are some small rowing boats that were quite cute- although they randomly advertised "Sunsilk" and "Lemon Tea" on their roofs.
Just as we were about to KO from the hectic crafty shopping, we found an oasis- a perfectly positioned café that was rockin. We returned to the hotel for lunch, then mum and I took off to sort out the camera fiasco. Thank fek I got a new one- woo!! Soo chuffed! Bout friggin time! Got the Cannon IXUS 65, so that's just ab fab. It even chirps like a birdie when I turn in on and woofs when I take a pic!! How cool!
Checked out the pool then just ate in the hotel as we were all knacked after a hard core day of shopping.
