Today we went out to the Ocean Park where we had a tour round by a hotish marine expert! We got to see loads of different marine life, including wee turtles, sea snakes and many fish. There were small tanks inside and then bigger 1s outside with bigger fish. They even hav a massive tank with sharks in it and they fed them while we were there which was pretty awesome!
After that they took us up to the Francois Peron National Park which is one of Shark Bay's most spectacular places and is only accessable by four wheel drive. So on the drive up we were in a 4WD van come bus and we had decided to sit in the back, discovered this was a very bad idea! The inside of the truck is reinforced with a metal skelaton incase it rolls, however we didnt hav any seatbelts which ment we got chucked about a lot sittin in the back. I mean we were gettin thrown quite high off the seat and were jokin about who was gonna b the first to smack their head, unfortunately it was me :( not impressed and it really hurt and i also hate how when u bang ur head and it makes u cry!! Anyway i kind of had a bit of a sore head after and a lovely big bump but believe it or not out of 10 females not one of us had pain killers and they had none in the first aid box, shockin!! The water felt pretty cold and as my head was pretty sore i decided to give the snorkling here a miss (as i knew we'd b doing some later on in the trip) so me, Cato, Mandy and Chloe snoozed and sun bathed while the rest of them went out.
Oh we also saw a stone fish. These r really ugly lookin things and if u stand on one it will poison u, not good! So we all had lunch and then went to a couple of lookouts which were pretty breath taking. On the drive home i ended up sittin up the front with Lotte where we had pretty good chat with the tour guide.
At night I went to an Aboriginal Cultural Night with Kerry. I've not really known much about about Aboriginal culture so i was really interested in finding out more. The guy told us about the culture and the different tribes. We also learnt about marriages between different tribes and that was really interesting. While he was chatting to us he got people to walk around with smoking sandlewood which made us all really chilled out. There was also a fish cooking on the fire while we were talking which we ate at the end. It was so yummy!! Was so glad i went along to this.
