So wakin up this morning sucked a little bit, i kind of just wanted to hide in my bed but i couldnt do that as we had so much to see. We decided that there was quite a lot to see around albany so we would stay another nite there and explore the local area that day. So we started our day off by driving out to Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve. It wasnt the nicest day, a bit grey and miserable but i suppose its gettin to winter now. We went for a long walk down to the beaches, however walkin along the beach proved harder than we thought! It was covered in seaweed and we kept sinking into it! We also went too far along the beach and had to turn back to try and find the correct path!
After that we headed to Mount Clarence where we could see right across Albany, was quite impressive. However Fiona decided she wanted to do this walk around, i didnt think it looked very walkable but we gave it a go. However we ended up in some weird places but eventually we did make it back in a full circle back to the car even tho we had to go thru some very over grown pathways to get there! After that we headed to the Torndirrup National Park which has some of the most spectacular natural scenery along the coast. We did a driving tour of the park and stopped off a various viewing points and things to see. These included The Gap and Natural Bridge, which are two natural features carved from granite by nature's force and The Gap features a 25m sheer drop into the sea, pretty impressive! We also saw a blowhole which, as it was not a great day, we actually heard the noise they make, its this kind of wooshing noise!
After we had exhausted everything this national park had to offer we headed back into Albany, stopping off on the way at a wind farm, yes the old environmental engineering! There wasnt many wind turbines there but u could do a wee walk round and even tho it was a crappy day Fiona wanted to do it so we set off and funnily enough we were freezing and wet by the time we were done! I dont think i've ever actually stood under one before and it is quite incredible the size of them! They r also not that noisey for all that people complain about them, its just a gentle woosh as the blades turn.
Back in Albany we went to Mount Adelaide where they hav an Anzac War Memorial, quite a climb to get up there. And just before we headed back to the hostel we headed out to Lake Seppings which was nice but i think we were both a little fed up of looking at things after all we'd seen today. So we headed back to the hostel for some fish and chips and a well deserved rest.
