Budapest day 3
We had a lazy morning and didn't leave the house until 10am...that is massive considering most days so far it has been 8 or 8:30.
We headed straight for the great hall markets and had fun walking around looking at everything. We were there for 2hours and then headed to a park for lunch. One of the things I really love about Budapest is all the parks and playgrounds. You walk around a corner and there is a cute little playground.
After lunch we hopped a ride on the no. 2 tram which runs along the bank of the Pest side of the river. We wanted to walk around St Stephen's Basilica. What an amazing place. We were lucky enough to arrive when the organist was practicing for the organ concert that was on this evening (we didn't go). Apparently the organ is the largest in Europe. The whole place was pretty special.
We enjoyed a rest in another park when it was hottest before heading to the State Opera house for the tour. I can't even explain how beautiful that place was. Sadly we don't have photos as we had to pay to take them but I have the memories.
After that we tripped around on some trams seeing different parts of the city before or travel tickets ran out then headed home.
We are all ready for the next step in our adventure....next stop Poland, via some parts of Hungary and I think Slovakia also.
