We didnt arrive in Koh Tao until around 8pm and there was NO WAY we were getting accomodation for the night! We met this guy who owned a hotel and said we could sleep on his balcony! Now this sounds rediculous, but when he said balcony... it was huge and covered and really nice. It was just like sleeping in a room with a really big window! :-) He even brough us up a matress and towels and blankets! SO nice! He had obviously lived in London for a while as he said 'Mate' after everything he said and he had all these cockney rhyming slang words on the wall! I actually slept REALLY well. The next day we set off on a mission to find accomoadation, but STILL no luck! A guy who owned a hotel on the beach said that he would have a room tomorrow and that for tonight we could sleep in this room he had (for functions i think?!?) There ended up being 11 of us sleeping there that night! Everyone was having the same problem! So busy!Firstly it was right after full moon, but also there was a really famous Swedish rapper playing on Sunday night, so the island was FULL of Swedish people! Again slept quite well AND was impressed with the fact that we had just managed to get 2 free nights accomodation! Ended up making really good friends with 2 of the people who had been sleeping in the same room. The next day as promised the guy had a room for us and my friends got a room right next door! On Sunday night we watched the rugby and then went to watch this Swedish rapper dude to see if he was worth all the fuss, but by the time the game was over we missed him. Still had a great night tho. They love their beach parties in Thailand!! That day Mike and Pete (my friend who id met the night we all kipped on the floor) went snorkelling on the other side of the Island in a place called 'SHARK BAY'!! They came back and were buzzing! Saw SO many sharks! I said i wanted to do it the next day and sfter i'd had a few drinks even told them that if i chickened out they both had permission to slap me! Not such a good move... BUT it worked because the next day they took me to Shark Bay and i swam with sharks!!!!!!!!! It was SO amazing! SO scary at first! I had Mike on one side and Pete on the other! But soon i learned that the anticipation is worse than the actaul Sharks! They are just big fish! They dont even care that your there! At 1 point about 5 swam right by us, not even bothered. By the end i was swimming around fine, not scared at all! So glad i did it! That night i was SO tired from the swimming and the night before so we crashed really early! Next morning i booked my ferry and bus to Bangkok and left at 2.30pm. Pete had a flight back to Oz from Singapore and the cheapest way to get there was via Bangkok, so i had a travelling buddy which was great. He's a great guy too, so the long journey wasnt so bad.
