The ferry ride to 'Ko Lepi' was about 8 hours and was the most beautiful journey. It goes right through all the little Island off Krabi. Most of these islands are resorts and are DEFINATELY not within our budget! They look amazing tho! Maybe one day when im rich!We arrived in Ko Lipi at around 3pm. When we got off the boat we had to get a long tail boat to the beach which cost 50 baht. Mike had done some reading up on Ko Lipi and decided that sunset beach would be the best to stay on, so we got the long tail to take us round there, but there was only 1 place to stay and it was full so me and Jules went on a mission to find some other accommodation on another beach. We met a girl on the way who helped us find our way (even though she took us the long route!) and so we made it to the village where there was a tourist information point. The woman who worked there (Annie) was so nice and she found us a little bungalow hut on ?? beach for 500 baht a night so we trecked back to get mike and then made the big journey back with all our stuff. The route was mainly sand and I couldn't wheel my suitcase so mike helped me lift it on my back and I stumbled round to the beach. I was so wrecked after! Once we got settled into our little bungalow we headed off to explore the island which didn't take long at all! We got some food and then I headed off to bed. I think the boys stayed up for a bit in the bar at the front of our complex. The next morning me and mike went to catch some sun. Jules had been really ill throughout the night and spent most of the day trying to get better sleeping in the porch. There were really not very many people around and me and mike were thinking that maybe we were on the wrong beach and that maybe everyone hung out at a different beach, so we went for a walk round to sunlight beach, but it was still really quiet. We came to the conclusion that the island on general was just not busy at all which washard t o get used to after being on Phi Phi which is SO busy! The rest of our time on Lipi was just relaxing! There isn't much to do here. There are no phone boxes. If you want an outside line you have to pay 50 baht to get a line to the post office on the main land and then they connect you. There are no ATMs, internet is 100baht an hour!! But luckily I picked up some free wireless! The family who owned the bungalows we were staying in were SO nice! They brought Jules some tablets when he was sick and they would always offer us a beer or some of their food! The dad was a legend! He ran the bungalows (to perfection), raised 3 awesome kids, cooked for them, did laundry for customers, the list goes on and they all slept in 1 little hut on the floor. There didn't appear to be a mother around, but we never asked.None of them spoke very good English. The oldest kid, Tam who was 15 always came over to our bungalow to talk to us. It was a constant struggle to understand each other, but we managed alright. He took Mike fishing 1 day which he loved… although they didn't catch anything! Tam said we were too big to fish and that we would scare the fish away!!!! Every night they have a movie on in the strangely named 'Poohs bar'!!?? They have massive cushions so everyone goes there most nights just to chill out, have a drink and watch the film. On Saturday night the football was on so we stayed to watch that. Jules and Mike were in heaven! We left on Sunday morning to head back to the mainland. Once you run out of money here there isn't much you can do because of the lack of ATMs but we were wanting to head north anyway.
