Well ive been in Melbourne for 3 weeks now and I am in love with this place! Its so amazing! Amazing people, buildings, places, things to do. This is Australias capital of culture. Loads of museum and art galleries, there are festivals on every week. Its just brilliant!
Things have worked out SO well for me since ive been here! Started off on my friend Peters sofa (who is actually Warrens childhood best friend from across he road in Waverly, freekily enough?!?!). He said I could stay for the weekend while i got myself sorted and on Saturday night, we went out to a BBQ with all his friends and I met these Irish girls who were SO lovely! One of their flatmates was away for a few days annd they said i could stay at theirs for a few days and then a few days turned into a week because of another flatmate going away and then the day i was due to leave 1 of the girls said that we could get a matress from the Salvation Army and I could share her room!! So I am now a perminant resident of Westbury Street! The girls are BRILLIANT! The girl who i share with is called Claire and the pair of us have become obsessed with juggling! Her boyfriend Kerrin (who has moved to Ireland to work for a year) is a circus trick master!! He can stilt walk, unicycle, juggle knives and fire, he does magic.... the list goes on!! So we used to take his bag of tricks to the park and play, but now he has taken them all to Ireland. I had bought juggling balls in Thailand and Claire had her own set, but we are going to get new ones tomorrow because my ones are falling apart! (which will teach me for spending 2pounds on a pair off Koh San Road in Bangkok!)
Job wise.... HA! Well...... I got a job in a restaurant the 2nd day i was here, but it was AWFUL pay and i hated working nights and weekend and stuff so i quit that when i got a new job in a call centre, but then i quit that before i started because i really thought about how unhappy and negative it was going to make me feel! It was cold calls to people trying to sell some energy or something?!!?! So im back on the job hunt, BUT i went to join the gym yesterday and got chatting to a guy who works there who says they are definately looking for staff, so i got speaking to the manager and she seemed quite positive and told me to e-mail her my cv so im hoping thats gonna be a good one cuz its literally a 2 second walk from my house AND free gym membership!!!!! So keep your fingers crossed for me!
So... in my unemployed state... i have been very busy!
For my birthday we went for picnic and a day of juggling in the park and then we went to watch an AFL game, which was BRILLIANT! Kerrin was really excited because it was his home team playing! I put a $5 bet on and won $15 back because Dulong won! Its a butal game! Kinda rugby, kinda american football, kinda basketball!! It really easy to understand, so it was great to watch! Then we went for a few cheeky drinks just near ours. It was a great day and getting cards from home was so nice! On Monday, we went to the Salvation Army shopt to get my bed which was only $40!!!!!! Its in really good condition aswell. So I have my own bed now! Very exciting! On Tuesday we went on this thing called 'Geo Caching'! Basically there is this website you join and you get co-ordinated or these little boxes hidden all abround the city! It goes on all over the world, just like a big tresure hunt for adults! Once you get to a certain area with the GPS co-ordinates there is a clue to where it will be. Some of them are just film canisters with a big list of paper and you write your name on the bottom and the date, but some have stuff in them! You bring stuff with you t put in the box, so you can take something and replace it with whatever you have. Its just stupid stuff like stamps or toys or something. Claire and I had had a big painting session the night before and we brought loads of our art to out in the boxes. We took a little finger puppet frog which we named "Geo". It was a great day! And a great way to see the city.
So fingers crossed I get this job and life will be even more great!
Love you all millions and miss you so much! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
