The place we went in Cairns to get a job was also advertising at the time a job working on a fishing charter boat, but i was too scared to take it for alot of reasons...... out at sea for 7 days...... what if the owner was a wierdo...... i hate fish......... So i took the hotel job as a safe option. It turns out that the guy who owns the hotels best freind is the guy who owns the boat...... and he needs someone to go with him to New Guini TOMORROW!!!!! So im going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had to clean the boat out and get it a prepared today. Very hard work!!!! And it gets better...... NO FISH!!! We are taking a group of bird watchers!!!!!!

The main bad point however ....... because they are bird watchers.... i have to serve breakfast at 5AM!!!!!!!! The early bird catches the worm and all that!!! Nightmare!! And i thought 6.30am was bad!!!

I really do believe that the experience will make up for it tho!! NO other backpacker can say they have done a 7 day working cruise in the torres strait!!! In fact no-one has ever even heard of this place.

I forgot to say in my last entry.... this place is SO in the sticks that i have no reception on my phone just incase you've been txting of anything. Cowry's laptop is a set up for skype tho and after i get back from new guinie i will be on most evenings so ill sign on and hope someone is there. That would be about 9am ish with you??!!?!?!?

Soooo i will be back on Thursday Island next Wednesday and i will get in touch as soon as i can. someone has told me that they think he has internet on board but i didnt see anything of the sort when i was on board today?!?!!?!? So im not holding out much hope.

love you all soooooooooo much. Its funny.... as soon as i stepped on the boat today, so many amazing memories came flodding back. Mainly of our cruises in merico- i kept saying.... i cant wait to tell my grandad!! But also about dad......... hoping he'll keep me safe and fight off any sharks!!!!!!!!!
