We say goodbye to la isla Bonita today. Sad day. Such a beautiful place! The Belizean people are so friendly and kind to visitors...they may rival Canadians for being so nice!

Overall Belize is a great place to visit. Everyone speaks English so it makes everything easy. US cash is accepted as readily as BZ dollars. You can use major credit cards in most places and our bank cards work in ATMs. Scotia bank has several branches in Belize!

The tourist industry is big enough that it's easy to travel and go on day trips but not so touristy that you are overcome with outlet malls (don't get me wrong i enjoy a good mall...but I can go to them at home) or herded like sheep to see the sights. Belize is definitely our kind of country!

Caribbean Villas was a great choice. Small, friendly, on the beach with a good pool an hot tubs. We're far enough out of San Pedro to have the birds and trees around us, and only a 15 minute walk along the beach to be in town for shopping and great food.

The staff here are the best I've dealt with anywhere. Truly wonderful people that treat you like you're a guest in their home not just people they are paid to look after.

Ok, time to go pack up and take some gravol ;). I would like to survive our water taxi and bus rides today!
