Up early yet again! Off to go shopping in San Pedro for a couple hours.
There are beach and street vendors everywhere you go in San Pedro. They are all very polite and wish you a good day if you say no thank you. No one will try to push a sale on you at all.
First we stopped to buy some weavings from one of the beach ladies and her little girl. so cute :). Everything she has is made by herself, her mom or grandma. You can see the beach ladies walking up and down all day with their bundles of weavings on their heads.
Then we stopped in San Pedro's central park where there are a lot of vendors. We bought a carved wooden bowl and some jewelry made from shells.
Lunch break at "reef"... More seafood Belizean style.
And then back into a boat for more sun torture...I mean snorkeling. We just slather on the sunblock and cover ourselves up as much as we can. This time we went north to "Mexico Rocks". Our guide Marco stayed in the boat and Wayne and I were off on our own. We saw a green sea turtle, beautiful coral and lots of other fishes. "Tiny fish, tiny fish, swimming in the water..."
Back to the villas and a little time in the hot tub before heading off for dinner.
Last night we had a fantastic meal at Elvi's kitchen. Tonight we went to the Sunset Grill. Food was fantastic as well but a lot pricier. Actually all the food we've had has been great! We have found a huge difference in pricing. Some restaurants are known for charging tourists twice as much as locals and don't have actual menus with pricing. Thanks to tripadvisor we've been able to avoid some of them. The least we've paid for a meal for 2 is $35 bz ($17.50 us)...tonight it was $110 bz ($55us).
Don't know for sure when I'll have wifi again. We leave for San Ignacio tomorrow!
