Last night in San Ig. What a trip! Today we went to the Actun Tunichnil Muknal (ATM) cave. It was discovered in the mid 1980s and National Geographic did a documentary on it called "journey to the underworld". Incredible. Big day! We were up early to meet our guide Elias to go visit the Tikal ruins in Guatemala. While we were doing research for our trip we read about how Guatemalan bandits like to rob tourists at gunpoint on their way to Tikal. This is why we decided to do the trip with a guide. We hopped on the Belize City water taxi (speedboat) at 10:30 yesterday morning to begin our travel to San Ignacio, near the Guatemalan border. Just another crazy day in Central America! Went for breakfast at "Flayva's" down the street. We were there for dinner last night too! Awesome food at excellent prices.
