Yesterday we attempted to go to Ueno zoo, but when we got there we discoverd it was shut (as alot of tourist things are on a monday) We went into the grounds of the temple next door. Saw a flame which was still burning from the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshma.
We decided then to go to Akihabara, which is known as electric town. Here there are hundreds of shops selling electrical items. We went into an electrical store which was ten large floors full of everything you could possibly ever need. This is where we found a travel plug adapter, so now we can dry our hair! yay!
After visiting here, and having some very spicy chicken from a restaurant nearby, we headed to Ginza, which is where all the designer shops are, we wandered around, but obviously couldn't afford anything. Felt very out of place in all our travelling clothes!
Today we went back to Ueno Zoo. When we got inside we were amazed at how big it was. First animals that we saw were the pandas, there was one black and white one and two little red pandas. They were adorable. There were loads of birds, Kates particular favourite was a little orange one called c*** of the Rock. We also saw elephants, monkeys, gorillas, lions, tigers, giraffes, zebra, rhinos, hippos, an anteater and loads of others which I have completely forgotten. If you actually want to know, look at Kates pictures, she took hundreds!
The horrible thing about the zoo was that the cages were so small and the animals looked so bored! We didn't really like it that much.
