BLOODY BIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi everyone, sorry bout the opening but if you ever go to amsterdam watch out for the bikes!!!! they are a nightmare and are everywhere, think i had one in my bed the last night. well we have been to amsterdam and spent 4 glororious days there. the place is not the biggest city we have been to but still manage to cram all the necessities in(and a few extra), they had the standard churches and souvenir shops but for some reason everyone there seems a bit more chilled out.....not sure why. also there is an area with ladies in shop windows....half off them will get seriously bad colds or may even end up with flu as they dont have much clothing on. what would there mothers say :-). we had a very nice litlle 4 bed dorm which was basically a room with bunkbeds. 1st night there were 2 lads from the czech rupublic in there they were pretty ok. the next 3 nights we spent with the company of a lovely couple from australia. cant remeber there names. the only real downside/upside were the stairs.....we might aswell have been climbing a ladder(it really was that steep). another small downside is that there wasnt a very big social area,in fact not sure how they got 4 tables in there without it being a fire hazard. amsterdam itself seems very busy, there are laods of people around 12ish then goes quiet then seems to pick up in the evening again. its a city full of everytype of person you could think off and all seem pretty nice. i would def recommened to go to this city as its a very nice experience. unless there are particular reasons you wish to go there i can see 1 week being enough. sorry to go on about the bikes again but they really are everywhere and dotn think red/green lights apply to them. the thing is they are real crap looking bikes aswell and it would be embarrising if you got hit by one. i think the best thing to do is to actually join the millions of cyclists and then you will feel safe. well all hope you visit amsterdam one day and shares the experiences aswell. take care all kie and han xx p.s if you ever go try one of the waffles covered in icing!!!!! i think hannah is going through withdrawl symptons xxx
