Kieran & Hannah's world tour of the world.
Hey peeps,
As u all know we are in Vienna.
This place is really nice.We arrived here on sat evening to a nice bit of drizzle.
Luckily our hostal was about a 3 min walk from the station down some back streets. We thought it wasnt going to be that nice until we walked in.
It has to be the best one yet!! Maybe in the world. (only been in 5 so not sure yet) lol.
We had booked 3 nights originaly, but its such a pleasnt place we extended it by one whole night.
The hostal is really homely, has a nice big kitchen so we can cook our own food.
A bar , nice clean showers and rooms. And the lounge area has musical instuments, piano, guitar ect...oh and a string quartet...(not really) but the other instruments are there.
On sat night we were both really hungry so headed down town to get some grub, we walked around for ages trying to find something a lil more healthy Not macdonalds. We walked for ages and only found a pizza and pasta place. So gave in and ate there.
Sunday morning we went back into town again after being told we were about a good 45min walk to the main part of Vienna. We came across a massive art museum.Never knew it was so arty around here. Also found out they do a rent a bike system were you register yourself with your credit card and pick a bike from the bike stand. You can then ride around the city free of charge for an hr then u have to put them in at a stop otherwise u get charged for it.Still not bad for every hr u go over u get a charge of one euro (70p) so that was fun.Plus they look really groovey either blue or bright yellow with a basket on the front.Oh and a bell.lol
Been pretty much all over the city on sunday we even got a lil lost.We had walked down town to the river and found an amazing chinese takeaway. We planned on walking back to our hostel to shower and go back there later for tea.So we headed off passing a sports bar on the way.
Kie popped his head in to find arsenal were playing ManU so we watched arsenal win and had a few beers.
When we left it was rather dark outside and i had found i had left my homing pigion instincts in the pub/glass.
We had been walking for about an hr and were really hungry so ended up eating some more greasy food in a kababby kinda shop. Mind u when ur that hungry and a bit lost your happy to eat anything.Surprisingly it was lovely!! must of been the beer!Any hoo we got out our map and asked a lady for directions home. And managed to make it in about another 30mins.We got back and chilled with some more beer and a few games of cards.
Yesterday (my bday) was really good. Did the whole bike thing again treated myself to a bikini that i proberly didnt need but was in the sale. And rode down to the river again to try some of that chinese, it was really nice and super fast.Just like a Macdonlds or burgerking for speed but as tasty as a regular chinese resturant. Heaven!! (definetly need some back home!!)
Kie and i then walked off our tea back through town laughed at some of the street acts...(people really do anything for money) got some beer found some more bikes and rode back up the high street home.Where we ended the night playing some more cards.
Overall we have found this city the most fun.It is really big, and most people use the underground and trams, but when you have free access to the bikes it makes getting around alot more fun, and a bit more healthy.(not bearing in mind a bit more dandgerous with the whole riding on the otherside of the road) lol
Last night tonight, have been sat in this internet cafe now for over two hrs and just relized we havnt yet booked up any accomodation for tomorrow.Hoping to go to Budapest in Hungry for a couple of days.
Thank you all for all for our mails and msges always appreciated. Will try and get back to them all at some point (",) well thats all folks, speak to u soon x x x x x xlove kie and han x x x x
