Up early for a Fijian scone (steamed coconut milk dumpling) and cup of tea for breakfast. We had to check out at 9am and wait for the boat on the hammocks to pick us up at 10:30. We thanked everyone at Wayalailai for a lovely time especially our guide Saki who guided us everywhere.
On the boat we ran into the Aussie girls from the Seaspray and caught up. Next stop Korovou.
We had the Deluxe bure 3 which was the best hut we had stayed in yet with a living room and a comfortable bed.
The weather wasn't so good that afternoon so we stuck to the hammocks. Lunch was ready when we got there. A beef burger on a huge bun with lots of coleslaw. I went for the veggie option which meant I got a banana instead of the beef.
After lunch we walked around the island and had a nap and then a drink and in no time it was dinner.
The drums beat and we were served a chickpea soup for starters pretty bland and needed lots of seasoning. For mains the chef brought me sweet and sour vegetables on rice as he thought I was a vegetarian , I let them know it was only beef I didn't eat but would eat what he served me as it looked lovely and it was. Everyone else had chicken and green beans. During dinner we got chatting with the girls around the table. Tatiana from Columbia but lived in Brisbane and Amanda who was from Hampshire but had been working in Australia for a year. For desert was banana and custard with fresh coconut flakes which I ate half of as I was so full.
The staff at the resort were young and full of energy so after dinner they performed a Fijian/JLS dance and then got us all involved. Dancing sober was awkward at first but after a while it became fun. We played different games with the staff, musical chairs (which I won), running with a potato between your legs race. The losing team, which was us, had to perform the routine of Single Ladies by Beyonce.
