Tuesday 4th September Last Day
It was our last day in San Francisco and we were meeting up with my family. Red was picking us up to take us around and then to Concord to meet the rest of the family. Before he picked us up we made pork pasta and put it in Tupperware ready for the 12 hour trip to Las Vegas. We then popped into union square to get some cash money and Starbucks.
Red picked us up in his lovely car and took us for a drive. It was a lovely day. We went to see the Bison enclosure in The Golden Gate Park and watched a horse wee with a police man on his back.
We went to get some lunch in a place we had driven past called Catch It. I had a prawn Korean BBQ with half rice, half vegetables. It was a big lunch but i really enjoyed it and felt healthy.
We then went to Twin Peaks which gives you an incredible view of the city. It was freezing and windy. The clouds moved so fast that one minute there was no visibility and then it cleared so you could see everything. We drove back down the steep hills and through Castro, the gay district. All the posts were marked with rainbow flags. The shops had fab innuendo names. The houses on the back street were beautiful and the area felt so clean. I had a really strong and yummy coffee medium roast.
We then went to meet the rest of the family as it would take a bit of time to get there. The radio announced that the road we needed to take was closed as there was a police car chase and shoot out. It extended our journey by 2 hours.
We were meeting the family in Applebee's. We got there first and then Carl, Stephanie and Aunty Natty came. Kuya Ed and Ate Lilibeth were stuck in traffic. The restaurant was filled with fake movie memorabilia and pictures of Walnut Creek. Red had to leave at 18:30 and missed his parents. I wasn't overly hungry as I had a big lunch but ordered off the under 500 calories list and had sizzling chicken which came with lots of broccoli that I don't like.
It was massively difficult saying goodbye to aunty natty and the rest of the family and tears were shed! I wish we didn't live so far apart!
