Our first day in Chiang Mai was relaxed after the pretty restless 12 hour bus journey (10 hours when we actually got moving).
We walked around CM to get a sense of Thailand's second city also known as the unofficial 'capital of the north'.
The place is far more relaxed than Bangkok and much more my style. Bars with chilled out music, cheaper prices and a wifi connection that actually stays connected - it just doesn't work half the time.
We headed to the night bazaar (market) to see if we could get any bargains but the local market is much more commercialised than we'd thought and it's more just like a bigger Khao San Road.
We ate at a British bar (a nice break from noodles) and watched the premiership football with a beer - it is Saturday night after all.
Tomorrow, tigers.
