So we arrive at koh phangan and are litterally squeezed into a taxi of 10 others vaguely going the same way as us, it is only 100 baht (£2) so we don't complain, but when we are dropped off the driver tells us we have to walk the rest as the car can't go down the road, he tells us it is a 2 minute walk.... It was not. So we are walking around with 4 rucksacks in 35 degree heat for about 20 minutes before we actually find it but the hotel itself, Friendly Resort,was lovely pool overlooking the sea and rows and rows of cute little bungalows, the only problems we had were that the aircon was either arctic cold, or off which meant we had to sleep with the remote and constantly turn it on and off throughout the night, we also only had one tiny child sized sheet but other than that lovely resort! When we had recovered from our awful journey we go out to explore the island and go to one of the restaurants on the beach, amongst the 1000s of flyers we are offered is one advertising a waterfall party which we decide to go to, the party itself was good, cheap drinks, good music but there was no waterfall just a big rock which apparently has some water occasionally, very misleading it is also about a 10 minute trek through the jungle in the dark after getting out the taxi, guiding your way by following the music, which can be difficult if you've already been drinking!
