The weather was so lovely today a great day for sight seeing in Wellington. Started off with what seems to have become my way of greeting a new city - wandering around in circles and up and down the same streets over and over until eventually finding what I was looking for was a short simple walk from the hostel! I caught a cable car to the top of the city where there was a brilliant view down over the whole of Wellington. I then made my way down through the botanical gardens back to the city centre. It was pretty around the gardens but I imagine in the summer it would be even nicer, especially in the Rose Garden. The path I was walking down led to the "Beehive" which is New Zealands central government building. Next I was headed for Te Papa - Wellingtons famous museum and an apprent "must do" whilst here. I managed to kill a couple of hours and admittedly some of the exhibits were very interesting but nothing extra special.
Nice early start for the ferry crossing tomorrow and then Goodbye North Island - just over half way through my time in New Zealand - Crazy Stuff!!!!
