We're in pain!!!
Today we've had a very strenuous day, well for us we have. We started off the day by driving to a small town called waikino, were we hired a couple of bikes and set off for the karangahake gorge, basically a walk through the forest along the gorge which was really nice. We ended up returning the bikes about 4hrs later as we had to chain up the bikes and divert on walks to look outs and waterfalls etc. After that we drove to the coast further south to a place called Tauranga, which was a proper funky little place on the beach, whilst there we decided to climb the mountain there and got to say we are glad we did because the views were amazing, but we nearly didn't make it, our legs were cramping up and I thought my heart was gonna jump out of my chest haha. What a relief when we got to the summit!!
We thought we had it bad, at the top we come across a fireman in all his gear with a oxogen tank strapped to his back climbing for charity. And believe me it was hot!!!
What a legend.
We are leaving tomorrow heading south to a place called Rotoura, a small volcanic town, which we are looking forward to.
For now a nice bottle of vino and a film after our long day.
