Yesterday we started the day by getting up early to catch the 8am blue bridge ferry over to the South Island , when we arrived to the ferry dock after Dave done a couple of wrong turns he check his phone and also missed that are ferry had been delayed an hour well done Dave lol

When we finally got on to the ferry which is about 3 hour trip, we went to the movie room and watch a film surprise surprise Dave fell asleep ( I did crash out too)

We arrived to the South Island in Picton and headed down to Kaikoura which was another 2 hours, but as Dave did not charge his phone we had no address for are next motel where we was staying so we had to find a place to charge his phone ( Daves day isn't going well lol ) as we reached Kaikoura we found a seal coloney on the bay of rocks which was amazing, we got so close to the seals and there was loads of them the baby ones were so cute ( your see in are pictures )

We check checked in to are motel which was really nice, we then went for a drive to see what was round, we found a look out where you can see both bays it was pukka views.

We stayed up there for the sunset which was absolutely amazing the photos don't do it justice.

Today we had another early start up at 5am for a dolphin encounter, we was only excepting to see a few dolphin but we ended up seeing a dolphin pod of 300 plus it was wicked, they was following the boat in front and behind and doing acrobatics . There is also sperm whales but we don't get to see any which was unlucky for us but we could have seen them because there is a 5000 metre deep canyon under the water just of the bay of Kaikoura where they meet.

We then set off to a place called Hanmer Spring which is 1 and half hours drive , we got 55 km down the mountain roads and realised we was running out of petrol , we checked for the nearest petrol garage and it was the town we had just come from 48km back by this time the empty sign was flashing , we had no chance of making it back , we see an older couple which was English and told them and they offered to follow us back and if we broke down then they would take us to petrol garage. So off we went all the way back again it was so hilly which didn't help , I was so nervous all the way back.

Some how and I don't know how but we actually made it to the garage the relief when we got there was a good feeling , after filling the car up we also filled are belly with some really good fish and chips so least one good thing come out of it really good food lol.

So off we go again to start are drive to Hanmer springs. Just so you all know before we started are drive up the mountain I told Dave to get petrol but he said we would be fine ( yeah ok Dave lol )

We arrived at are first camp site and put are tent up , it was so easy to put up. It's a lovely little town here. Just sitting in a bar having some a few drinks and some food. Oh and it 30 degrees here.
