Last day in Shanghai done. We decided to give the water town a miss and just hang about the city again. We planned to check out the French Concession and then Nanjing Road. After we awoke and dressed we stepped outside and noticed it was fairly rainy. Not great weather for wandering around outside, that's for sure, but we had no back up plans and couldn't think of anything else we wanted to do so we stuck to the original plan. So, we didn't make it to the water town again and now I'm not so sure we will. Now that it's getting to the end of our trip we are getting pretty tired and especially because we haven't stopped at any smaller places, just all big cities. Instead we were out the door by 10am and tried to organise some things in the hostel lobby. Firstly we needed to book train tickets to get to Hangzhou. Well. Another day in Shanghai done. We didn't get up early enough to go to the water town so instead we stayed around the city. First stop of the day was breakfast. Around the corner from our hostel we found a bakery so we bought some things there and then walked down to Starbucks to buy a coffee. We sat and ate and drank. What a day! What a day! Actually it wasn't than exciting of day but it was a good day. We started out with breakfast at the hostel which was a club sandwich with coffee and juice and pretty tasty (although maybe a tad expensive). We left the hostel at around 9:30am and I have to admit I was a bit nervous about stepping out into Shanghai. I wasn't sure if food would be easy to find, which should always be one's first concern according to basic rules of survival...

Today we left Japan and flew to China. Firstly we packed up our things and checked out of the hostel. We pulled our bags up to the station and had a bakery breakfast before hopping onto the Shinkansen to Fukuoka. We had to fly out of Fukuoka because we had purchased our flights to Shanghai before finding accommodation and then we couldn't find a single place to stay in Fukuoka. Hence our stay in Hiroshima.
