This morning we left Prague very early up at 6.00 for brekky then onto Vienna. We get dropped straight in the city centre to have lunch then back on the bus where we drive on the famous ring road where all the famous buildings are. The buildings are fantastic they are museums, public buildings, cathedrals, opera houses etc. We are dropped outside two museums with our local guide for a city walking tour. We cross the road for a tour of Hoffburg Palace the Hapsburgs main palace. It is 7 times larger than Buckingham Palace. Amazing!!! We are shown the outside of the chapel where the Vienna boys choir started. We look at some horses that are also famous in Vienna. Then onto the St Stephans Cathedral after a tour of here back to the bus. We have about 45 mins from when we get back to get ready to go out. Tonight we are dining at a palace with beautiful chandeliers and paintings on the wall. We have schnitzel and sacher torte (chocolate cake) specialties of Vienna. Vienna is also famous for it's coffee houses. Anyway we have our dinner then down to watch an orchestra play Mozart and Strauss. No microphones but the sound was amazing. A soprano and a baritone also sing some opera songs and 2 ballet dancers dance to the music. The second half there is a bit of comedy between the band members. Mozart lived for 10 years in Vienna and died here so there is a lot about him here Wolfgang Armadeus Mozart. You can buy Mozart Balls here a chocolate will try to get some home. Anyway who would have ever thought we would be dined and entertained in a palace.
