Poland is very cool. I really like it here. There's not a heap to do in terms of site seeing, but there's still a great atmosphere in the city square all day and night.
We arrived in Krakow In the late afternoon yesterday. We went through Slovakia on the way and stopped for lunch in a carpark and the top deck crew prepared a heap of sandwiches (during this period every second person who walked past tried to see if they could line up and get food too).
We went for a quick walk around the city before heading to the hotel for dinner. We went back in to town after, taxis are super cheap, it cost us 18zl for a 20min taxi ride which is about $5. Everything's cheap here, apparently the average wage in Poland is 8000euro a year which is not much!
Today we went to the salt mines, which was super boring to be honest. A 15minute tour would have been good but we kept walking deeper and deeper into a mine where nothing changed and it took 2 and a half hours. There was a couple of really cool underground churches though (there pretty religious here) that are still in use and the walls and stairs are all carved out of the grey salt and even have hanging pictures carved into the walls. It was kinda cool, but seeing as we only had one full day here, I would have rather spent my time doing something else.
Me and Henry are going to head back into town tonight and feast on a good meal while it's cheap! (not that we haven't been eating well, were just looking for more excuses :)
Tomorrow morning we head to Prague at 6 in the morning. Definetly sleeping on the bus!
