Wow what a drama this morning was :( Henry and I booked a taxi with our hotel the night before, we got down to reception 10 minutes early only to find that they hadn't booked one, and that all the taxi companies were booked out (yes Paris taxis are the worst I've ever come across). We were forced to run to the metro station (a 10 minute run) with our backpacks, swap onto a second train and then run to the bus. Which we missed. Luckily.. They leave every 20 minutes so we got on the next one (very flustered and sweaty) and met the others at the airport where we met our next drama. We got the email the night of Brussels to book in and print of our boarding pass, but in Paris we couldn't find any Internet cafe's. The afternoon before Henry and I took a half an hour train ride to get to the nearest one but it was closed because it was a Sunday. So we got to the airport with no tickets, and being a cheap airline, they slugged us with a €40 fine. So in the end, probably don't fly with Ryanair unless you have to. It was a bad end to Paris, so I've got to try really hard to think about the two days prior and how amazing they were.
We got to Rome to find our accommodation was a big villa across the road from the colosseum, perfect location! We went inside it and checked it out before chilling out back at our cool dig (Which was pretty much brand new). It's really hot in Rome, 32 degrees, so aircon and a cold shower was bliss. The food so far has been alright, but not amazing, I had lasagna for lunch, and risotto for dinner, but both weren't great. I had high hopes for Italain food!! But I'm sure I will experience a great Italian meal soon.
