This morning there was no water again, the giraffe hooligans have damaged the water tank yet again.
The fire has now spread across the reserve, and is burning in a horseshoe shape on the hills around the camp - the road out is happily the clear bit. The rhino monitors have been out burning firebreaks, which to be honest don't look all that convincing - but they are sure that the forest will stop the fire reaching the camp here in the valley before even reaching the newly created firebreaks.
The smoke is thickening, and the wind direction has changed, so the fire is now moving down towards the camp more quickly. We're now talking about wet rags for our faces! There is an estimate that we have a 1 hour window to leave, or we stay and face it out if the forest doesn't indeed stop the progress of the fire.
The time has come to make a decision, and it's decided that just the men will stay - so it's just me leaving, and I have to be honest and say I'm not too disappointed to be going. My eyes are red and sore from the smoke, and the fire is heading down towards camp from the hill behind the room that I sleep in!
So, I'm heading back to the accommodation that I first stayed in when I arrived here this time, it's on the other side of the reserve - and the fire has now burnt itself out over there. Reliable hot water, a comfortable bed, no inferno…..sounds sensible to me. Right, I'm off to pack, quickly.
