Decided to do some walking today and check out some more of the beaches and swimming holes. Drove off road in Sams keep right to the very top of the national park to Emmagen Creek. Warning signs for crocodiles everywhere! Found a little path through the rainforest to a beautiful swimming hole, but it was pretty cold so I didn't go in! On the way back, there was some cassowary poop on the path we had just been on, so definitely some about! Sam was pretty pleased we didn't see any though!
Then drove down to Emmagen Beach, it was so windy and started to rain while we were there, suppose it is the rainforest!!!
Went for another walk along a boardwalk through the trees and lots of mangrove swamps then had some lunch, wanted an emu burger but they were all sold out so had buffalo instead!!
There was another swimming hole behind the place we had lunch so we went to have a look and I couldn't resist jumping in this one! There was a rope swing which was fun, but I was pretty pathetic at as I have no strength in my arms, so was again more just like falling in!! It was soooooooo cold, I couldn't catch my breathe for ages but it was perfectly clear and you could see the fish swimming around!
By this time, the sun had come out so I obviously wanted to do some sunbathing! Managed about 10 minutes between the clouds and the trees but it was nice to chill by the pool which was beautiful!
Went to check if our boat trip to the reef would be on tomorrow and decided to have a few games of scrabble! Sam beat me 4 times in a row- scrabble is not my game!!!!
Had some dinner and then got another early night!
