This time round in Sydney we wanted to wrap up and finish off all the loose ends we had missed on our first visit. We took a trip up to Bondi Junction to get some much needed shopping done for our trip to New Zealand. Our main reason for visiting Kosciuszco National Park was to climb Australias Highest peak - 2228m. As it was early afternoon, we were going to have to leave the 7 hour walk until the next day. So we spent the afternoon going for a swim, sauna and steam at Thredbo resort centre, which was nice after such a bumpy ride through the Alpine National Park. Today we headed for Canberra after having a great time with Paula and james in Sydney. Arriving late we found the nearest hostel possible, which ended up being the YHA, a little expensive but a lot better kept than many other hostels we have stayed in, the bed and bed sheets actually felt really clean and fresh haha. The gorgeous town of Port Macquarie was once a penal settlement for the hardened convicts but is now a town with gorgeous beaches and a great Koala Hospital in a wooded area close by. After taking a walk along the sea front and getting an early lunch from one of the local cafes we walked along the cliff tops stopping at a beautiful lookout where on of the locals who lived opposite had made a bench to relax on in the mornings!
