This time round in Sydney we wanted to wrap up and finish off all the loose ends we had missed on our first visit. We took a trip up to Bondi Junction to get some much needed shopping done for our trip to New Zealand. We thought it wouldnt be right without taking another visit to our fave China Town's food court for some beautiful chinese food, mmm!!! Its seriously so so nice here!!
A trip to sydney isnt complete without a stroll over the famous Harbour Bridge, so after taking a walk around the city one night we found ourselves there. Just a short walk along the bridge and you can get just breathtaking views of the City, harbour and Opera House all lit up... it was quite a romantic walk, and the views are just some that we'll never forget!!
Since we didnt visit Manly on our first visit to Sydney, we decided it was a must this time around. So, after a walk around Darling Harbour, Circular Quay and the surrounds of the Opera House, we headed out on the ferry. The ferry ride was pretty cool as it gave us chance to see the Opera House and the harbour at a whole new angle - it was pretty impressive. After a short ride away we arrived at Manly - this is where we were to meet Paula and James. A must in Manly is to get fish and chips on the sea front - and oh they were worth it.. although the hundreds of seagulls around us whilst eating did get alittle annoying!!! The beach was pretty - the sand seemed alot yellower than that of the East Coast beaches of Australia - and the surf seemed pretty good too. Just round the corner from the main beach was a small little cove that was really beautiful, with a small island in the middle! We finally found Paula and James, and since they too had seen all that Manly has to offered we all ventured back on the ferry to see 'The Rocks'.. which is where Sydney began. The Rocks is a small settlement, filled with cute coffee shops, narrow streets and unique shops. Traditionally the Rocks is the home of the indigenous Cadigal people, and the place where the first European settlers stepped ashore in 1788. Whilst here we saw Sydneys oldest pub, had a drink in a cute little coffee shop and had a wonder round. Almost time to say goodbye to Paula and James, and the discussion came up that Chris is thinking of cuting his hair... and yep - he eventually had the 'fro cut off - and we have some hilarious pics of mid hair cut!!!
After saying our goodbyes to Paula and James, we went back to the hostel and prepared to leave for New Zealand.. which we canni wait for!!!!!! :) xxx
