We have been working at the Cardrona Hotel for four weeks now and we are really enjoying it! It has to be the easiest, most laid back hospitality job that we have ever worked! For the last two weeks work has been really busy as the kids have been on holiday, yet nobody gets streesed and the shift never seems to be out of control. There are a select few arogant people (normally Aucklanders) who seem to think they deserve undivided attention because they have a stupendous amount of money...(last week i served an ex-all black and an architect who had just sold his business for $25 million. Neil was given this information and told to make sure they got good service. But why should they get better than anyone else??)...and they're not all like that! The majority of people are lovely and they tend to be quite relaxed because they are on holiday.
Living with Matt and Hayley is great-we have a huge on suite bedroom with an electric blanket(!!!!) sky tv, internet and now a new edition...a baby spaniel called Daniel! He has bags of energy and is quite mischievous! He is fascinated with feet and shoes...especially my smelly work shoes! and he's almost as good looking as Gus Laidlaw!haha!
Today we had planned on having our first skiing lesson but the weather is awful. It's cloudy, raining and probably snowing up the hill so we're going to wait until our days off next week. We aren't going to be going up that often so we want the weather to be nice!
