Hi all

Have finally met Rob and Cath properly after bumping into them yesterday. We met up with them for breakfast overlooking the lake. Carl & I had a full fry up to fuel us for the day! After that we went to some craft markets but resisted the temptation to filling up our luggage to super excessive levels. It was nice for Carl to catch up on family news and we will be seeing Chris and Matthew when we get up to the North Island. Its so funny to hear the accent in such a far flung place! They are also convincing us that emmigration is a good idea and I have to say I agree! They have seen lots of NZ so they are giving us hints and tips about where to visit, an insiders guide for free!

We are Loving the adventure capital of the world! Today Carl and I have been jet boating down Shotover valley and canyon swinging above it. Still so much to get done on our tick list!

The jet boating was so exciting. Carl had a seat right at the back on the side so he came very very very close to the rocks at the side of the valley. We did lots of 360 degree turns and got a bit wet and yes the water is still freezing! Once again though the backdrop was amazing, blue blue water and mountains towering above us! We fell into the trap of buying the dvd again so we have that to bring home with us.

We also did a canyon swing which is kind of a glorified bungy jump. It was 109metres high and you freefall for about 60m next to a cliff face. We have bought the dvds of us but we cant download them till we get home but they are hilarious. Carl is sat next to me know listening to them with headphones on and keeps laughing out loud. We loved the jump so much we did 2 each though truth be told if we were rich we would have done 10 more. To get a feel for it though go to www.canyonswing.co.nz to see what we faced! Still lots planned. We are exploring Queenstown tomorrow and going on some walks then meeting Cath & Rob for dinner. We think we are going to stay on in Queenstown then so we can go sightseeing with C&R in Arrowtown which is a small gold mining town upstream of Queenstown. We may get lucky and find a nugget so fingers crosses for us!
