Finally I am sober enough to write again.
Had a fantastic time in Kapiti with Cath & Rob though the pictures we have suggest we were a little drunk by the end of it! We started out quite sensibly and went for a lovley meal on the beach at Kapiti with views of the Island and a beautiful sunset. After that we stayed at Cath & Rob in glorious comfort after weeks in the back of a van! We also made full use of the mod cons Cath kindly offered and I had a drunken conversation with Mel & Geraint (sorry guys I will be sober next time!) and played Buzz on the computer (Chris it is cheating if you go to bed after a win) and then made full use of the kareoke to blast out Abba until the early hours. I think Carl did an excellent Benny and Rob stepped in for Bjorn. Cath & I had the hair colours to impersonate the women but I am afraid that is where the likeness may have ended after drinking a vineyard of wine. Dont worry Cath, the photos dont have sound to incriminate us!
The next day we had fun with the puppies, Fat Boy, Yoda and Daisy May but even they could not cure the hangover but we did manage to make breakfast at 3pm! Sorry boys if we were not very chatty but that damn cockrel was a little too much for our heads! I know I was ill as I couldnt even manage a world famous Kapiti ice cream. Dont worry though we will defiantly pick one up on our travels! Sadly we couldnt spend as long as we would have liked in Kapiti and had to hit the road again after playing find Carls passport.
Our travels took us down the desert road and we have seen beautiful volcanoes along the way. Due to our alcohol consumption and my near constant complaining of "almost dying and possibly of having developed rickets" (though they were probably just tremors) Carl stopped us in Taurangi to restore our batteries. I believe we uttered the immortal words "We will never drink again..." but with such generous hosts I am sure we could be persuaded. Cath, Rob be afraid, be very afraid when we treat you to a drink in the UK!
We didnt stop long in Taurangi and headed to Taupo to see the lake, Huka Falls and some geothermal parks. Such amazing sights. The water at Huka falls is an incredible blue and so loud! We are hoping to get a better view of the Lake when we skydive!
Will update again soon but have lots to book and plan. Also the blood has only just returned to our alcohol stream so we are still resting.
Miss you all
Love Kat & carl
PS Thank you for making us so welcome Cath & Rob. Chris dont forget we expect you to come up after your exams for a dive or bunjee!
