Happiness Is The Road
We'd had a brilliant relaxing time at Arthur River but it was time to move on today. Just before we left the owner popped round to check whether anyone had rocked up yesterday. We told him that it had been lovely and quiet with no new arrivals and he seemed very pleased with that. We drove off and his camp site was empty, very happy days for him until someone else turns up! Jay drove the camper for the first time today so obviously I was on edge with my nerves jangling! She drove us for about an hour back the way we had come to a place called Stanley. The drive was wonderful and relaxing. It was weird being in the passenger seat but great to be there taking in all the scenery. We could tell that we were getting close to Stanley when we could see the old volcanic plug known as 'The Nut' rising out of the landscape. It is very reminiscent of the Orme in Llandudno. Stanley is a very pretty little town with lots of cute and ornate Victorian era properties. It is one of the nicest places we have been to on Tasmania. We parked up in the town and had a look around the shops. There was a shop called Providore that sold the yummiest bread we have ever had, a garlic sourdough, which was packed full of whole olives and free of the poisonous vegetable oils that most breads are pumped up with. We noticed the camp site down below whilst having a mooch and it was looking busy so we decided to drive down there and make sure that we could get a space. There were only four powered sites left so we had done the right thing. We got a lovely spot with a sea view. We had lunch which consisted of our gorgeous olive bread dunked in olive oil, delicious! We then had a walk up to the Nut. We had a choice of going up on a chair lift or taking the short but near vertical steep path to the top. We both made it up the path and were rewarded with the most magnificent views. There was a sign on the way up which said 'pets and firearms are not permitted'. This seemed to be a bit of a strange sign but it's relevance became abundantly clear at the top. It seem that if you get your girlfriend to climb near vertical slopes they get annoyed with you and are likely to bring their dogs to maul you to near death before putting you out of your misery with a gun and pushing you over the edge! Luckily for me Jay had left both her dog and her gun back in the UK and in any case as the sign instructed she wouldn't have been allowed them here. Phew, lucky escape! We had a walk along the beach later on and looked back upon the town and the Nut. It is just so like Llandudno. The way that the Nut is like the Orme, the curve of the bay, the old houses hugging the side of the Nut, the beaches on both sides. We really love Llandudno and we do love Stanley. We had a lovely tea with a sea view and watched the people. As always it was very entertaining. There's nowt as queer as folk!
VEGETABLE OILS ARE POISONS
Vegetable oils give you cancer. Every extra mouthful of vegetable oil you consume takes you one step closer to a deadly (and irreversible) outcome.'
Of all the destructive foods available to us, those made with heated vegetable oils are some of the worst. Make no mistake about it vegetable oil is not the health food that you were led to believe it was. There are a number of reasons for this, but the primary one is that modern cultures are consuming these largely omega-6 vegetable oils at levels up to 100X greater than levels previously. At the turn of the century (a time when heart attacks were a rarity), the average person consumed only 1 pound of vegetable oil per year, while today that amount can exceed 75 pounds. Your Paleolithic ancestors, people who were robustly healthy suffered little or no chronic disease as they did not consume liquid vegetable oil at all. Excessive consumption of vegetable oil can contribute to:
